About the Conference

 

NIPM Mumbai Chapter has always organized conferences and seminars on current topics to enlighten the HR Professionals in line with the new perspectives. In the present Global Scenario,the role of HR Professionals has been dramatically changed to strategic business partner. Hence. NIPM Mumbai Chapter is organising its Western Regional Conference on HR Strategies for Business Excellence on 7th & 8th January 2005 at Hotel Leela.Sahar, Mumbai.

With business going global and competition becoming intense today HR has travelled a long way from its conventional role as a support function to being a strategic business partner in the present technology leveraged era, HR is facing the challenging focus on attracting, retaining & developing talent, managing and developing intangible assets and providing platform to take newer initiatives. HR Professional is a designer,a mentor,a steward who can build a shared vision and challenge prevailing intellectual models. As a result, human capital is replacing physical sources of capital and gaining competitive advantage in businesses. We are sure that this trend will accelerate as we head into the future.

In today's human capital focused economy, highly skilled worker with the right mind set is vital to any organization to enable it to compete and succeed.

The Conference theme ”HR STRATEGIES FOR BUSINESS EXCELLENCE” has been designed to bring together the thought leaders and mind blowers to share their views and experience touching the various issues of changing the Role of HR in various perspective for the benefit of Professional colleagues and participants from other faculties of management

To cultivate Human Capital as an asset it will be prudent to focus on empowering, sourcing, developing, retaining talent and learning methodologies. The growth plan of any organisation not only maps the investment in physical assets but envision the sources to broaden the knowledge base, promote talent within and incorporate world through various earning programmes.

The legitimacy of different technologies adopted by various organisations to cope with the fast pace of Global economy can be evaluated by the performance of the people who use those technologies. It is a challenge to design and implement effective model for talent management and measure its impact on the bottomline of the organization.

As an HR fraternity we require to put in conscious efort to project HR as a Brand and further to sustain the strategic efforts of the corporates to grow in terms of business. Assigning due share to intangible assets. which commonly include Values. Culture & Creativity of the human resource within, have always been an area of brain storming and multiple views and discussions.

Everybody would readily agree that these mind-stirring issues which have evolved as a by-product of the various economic, political and cultural issues are the DNA of any organization today and needs alignment with present business needs. Thus. the theme and sub themes selected are with the changing time of national and global scenario.

Besides, in order to generate meaningful discussion there will be a debate on” Culture &Values have definite place in competitive Business”.
